Most applications use toolbars to group user-selectable options. The browser you are using does.
In this column, we will look at creating the look and behavior of Windows-like toolbars using Internet Explorer DHTML.
It's a lot easier than one would think.
Familiarity with simple JavaScript image rollovers. See our very first column, JavaScript Event Handlers

Familiarity with Internet Explorer's use of the system colors. See Column 24, Accessing the User-Defined System Colors, Part I
So, let's first introduce the concepts and create a text-only toolbar.
